In September in the settlement of urban type Kirillovka, located on the shore of the Azov Sea, there were held open competitions on tourist multiathlon. The place for such competitions was chosen not by chance. Kirillovka, located in the south of Zaporizhzhya region, has long been considered one of the most picturesque resort places in Ukraine. This fame has won the village thanks to numerous recreation centers and sanatoriums specializing in the treatment of diseases of the musculoskeletal system. The unique natural landscape, consisting of estuaries, sandy spits, and the reserve on the island of Biryuchy annually attracts tourists from all over Ukraine, and countries near and far abroad. The history of the tourist multiathlon competition began when an ordinary kid from Melitopol named Volodymyr Kreidenko won a presidential target grant of 75 thousand hryvnias. He spent this money on organizing and holding open competitions on tourist multiathlon, which brought together young tourists from all over Ukraine. The competition was a fierce and uncompromising struggle, and until the very finals kept in suspense numerous spectators from among fans of this sport. As a result, the victory unexpectedly for the organizers and fans went to the Kharkiv athlete Anna Oleinik, who won the first place in a hard fight until the final. On her kayak this young girl overcame the distance of 500 meters in three minutes and 10 seconds. Irina Savina from Kiev took the second place in the overall standings. Her result on this distance was almost ten seconds worse than the result of the Kharkiv girl.
And the third place on the podium was taken by the athlete from Vinnitsa Dmitry Ignatyev. In conclusion, I would like to say that thanks to the efforts of the organizers the competitions were held at a high professional level, which was in no small measure facilitated by the amazingly favorable weather in this beautiful Azov resort.
