Sevastopol participates in the "Kaleidoscope of Wonders of Crimea"


In the launched on November 25, 2013. The Republican competition called «Kaleidoscope of Wonders of Crimea» is supposed to identify the most interesting from the point of view of tourists. The scope of the contest is quite wide, so natural, architectural, historical and cultural objects can be included in the «wonderful» tourist pages.

To submit applications to the Ministry of Resorts of Crimea can organizations that directly coordinate the work of such objects. The application shall be accompanied by high-quality photos and detailed characterization. The stages of the contest include checking the application for compliance of the object with the established parameters of uniqueness, popularity, attendance, safety, comfort, as well as the current condition.

Sevastopol takes part in the contest. The Crimean capital, which offers residents and visitors a great choice of apartments, also has the most interesting objects worthy of being included in the pages of «Kaleidoscope of Wonders of Crimea».

The State Administration has submitted applications for consideration of the museum complex «Cold War» of the Central Naval Museum of Ukraine, inter-school local history museum named after E.N.Oven and art museum named after M.P.Kroshitsky in Sevastopol, memorial complex «35th Battery» to the defenders of Sevastopol, ecological park in the town «Lukomorye». The desire to participate independently was shown by the Museum «Maklai Coast», dedicated to the scientist-traveler N.N.Miklukho-Maklai, and the National Reserve «Chersonesos Tavrichesky».

A few words about the nominations, in each of which 7 objects will be named.

Among the natural wonders can be submitted applications for consideration of caves, waterfalls, botanical gardens, recreational parks, zoological parks, wildlife sanctuaries, nature reserves, various natural attractions.

In the category of historical and cultural places it is supposed to consider historical monuments, including ancient settlements, fortresses, castles, palaces, cave towns, i.e. any objects related to events at the level of a person, people, culture, and everyday life.

In the nomination of Crimean wonders of modernity fall objects, the creation of which occurred within the last 20 years. These can be entertainment and art centers, places of interest for travelers with a characteristic cultural, natural, architectural bias.

Voting will be open on the website of the Ministry of Resorts during February 1-20, 2014, and the results will be taken into account along with the expert opinions of competent specialists. In order to avoid tampering in the Internet-voting there is a limitation: one vote for the favorite object can be left per day from one IP-address. The results are planned to be announced at the tourist fair of international importance «Crimea. Resorts. Tourism. 2014».
