Samburu National Reserve in Kenya

There are several national parks in Kenya, but they are all completely different. Each has its own merits and highlights that attract tourists from all over the world. But perhaps the most magnificent one is Samburu. This reserve is always at the top of the list to visit. The total area covers about 165 square kilometers.

Samburu National Park is located northeast of the state capital, Nairobi, 350 kilometers away, and consists of three equivalent reserves: Samburu Nature Reserve, Buffalo Springs Nature Reserve and Shaba Nature Reserve. This attraction attracts most tourists because of the presence of a mass of animals that can’t be found anywhere else. Samburu has the largest population of giraffe gazelles. Interesting and unique animals, behave very calmly and pose their slightly surprised faces in front of passing tourists.

Samburu National Park is teeming with a large number of animals and birds with up to 350 species. The river is home to many crocodiles. The predators roam freely throughout the reserve and live in their natural habitat, which allows them to breed in peace, constantly increasing their population.

The Samburu landscape is a foretaste of what awaits tourists further north. It has even acquired its own name — the «prickly dry savannah». The dry and dusty plain is a haven for many mammals never found in wetter areas.
