Serednikovo

The history of the park-estate complex Serednikovo dates back to the early eighteenth century. Lermontov’s house-museum and a modern hotel complex neighbor here, this place was favored by directors for filming historical movies. The estate is located in the Moscow region, in Firsanovka, Solnechnogorsky district.

Serednikovo is recognized as an example of garden design and estate construction of the mid-eighteenth century, which preserved the signs of the period of Russian classicism. At different times these historical places of the Moscow region were the residence of important representatives of the Russian nobility and some churches of Moscow. In different periods, these lands were owned by the Dobryninsky generals, Cherkassky princes, and Vsevolzhsky nobles.

The main sources of profit of the estate were horse and cattle yards. Horses from the estate were supplied to the royal stables, and rare breeds of animals were bred in the cattle yards. The greenhouses grew exotic fruits and rare varieties of vegetables, which were in great demand on the Moscow market.

Serednikovo

At the beginning of the nineteenth century Serednikovo was acquired by General Stolypin, who was a close relative of Lermontov. For several years the young poet preferred to spend here vacations in the company of acquaintances and friends. This time is considered important in the history of the estate. The time spent in Serednikovo had a great influence on the further creativity of Lermontov. The poet liked to spend time here with friends or alone, read and wrote a lot, it was here that his creative abilities and passions were formed and developed.

Today Serednikovo is an elite center of cultural life, which is open for various events: corporate and entertainment events, excursions and film shootings. Many historical movies and some TV series have been filmed here.

Recently, the estate has acquired another attraction, which attracts a large number of visitors. Such an attraction was a ghost town that was built in close proximity to the Goretovka River. Piligrim Porto — it was erected for the filming of the movie «Notes of the Forwarder of the Secret Chancellery», directed by Oleg Ryaskov. According to his plan, the atmosphere of the 18th century is present in the whole town. Some buildings quite accurately repeat the style and architecture of European houses of that era, they are available for visitors.

Every day there are guided tours of the ghostly port city for those interested, and they also offer a fascinating costumed photo shoot.
