The Dodecanese Islands or the «Twelve Islands» are a group of islands of incredible beauty in the Aegean Sea. But do not be fooled, in fact the group consists of 163 islands, but people live only on 26 of them. And the 12 largest islands gave the name to the whole archipelago. The Dodecanese Islands are located near the azure coast of Turkey, and, strangely enough, quite far from the main coast of Greece.

A tourist trip to Greece is not without a spectacular trip to the so-called «Trident Islands» — the island groups of Kos, Patmos and Rhodes. The Dodecanese islands, apart from their geographical location, are united by a common historical destiny. The archipelago has been inhabited since prehistoric times — since the Neolithic era.
