The center of Lviv is unique and unforgettable. After wandering through the ancient streets until your tired feet rumble, make one last effort to walk to Shevchenko Avenue: it is not far from Lviv’s central Svobody Avenue. You won’t regret it: at the end of the avenue there is an institution, which will be a real highlight in the festive pie of Lviv impressions. This is confectionery «Veronika».

Many establishments in Lviv «sell color». Along with a pile of impressions about the ancient Lviv architecture the guests of the city take away no less enthusiastic memories about the atmosphere of the famous Lviv coffee houses. Veronika Confectionery is also an «atmospheric» institution, but unlike many other cafes, it offers its guests the real cuisine of ancient Austria-Hungary.
Austro-Hungarian cuisine is nourishing and thorough: the thickest cream; the richest hot chocolate; the richest tradition of sweet dishes and desserts. They don’t cook like that now. But fortunately, Veronica has been able to pick up on this knowledge slipping through time. Some of the recipes were dictated to us by Darius Zwek herself, and the desserts here are exactly as they were tasted by the duchesses immortalized in the portraits on the walls of the pastry shop. But we ourselves are always looking for new recipes, and we are not afraid to experiment. So there is no exaggeration in our assurances that you will not see such pastries anywhere else. And we really hope that you will want to try it again when you come to Lviv again. We are proud that we have regulars who enjoy our cooking. Lviv and «Veronika» do not let go for nothing: good memories call you back here again and again. The best pastry shop in Lviv is Veronika, and we are not the only ones who think so…

In the old empire, coffee, cakes and chocolate were very much loved. Be sure to order a piece of cake from more than a dozen of their names — you will feel what Austria-Hungary tasted like. Among the cakes are especially good «Cardinal» made of meringue, with cream and almond nuts; «Drunken Cherry» — with chocolate and cherries in sherry brandy; «Queen of Chabot» — nutty, with «Charlot» cream and chocolate.
There was a special attitude to chocolate in the ancient empire. The ancient Austrian recipes for truffles have been preserved. Today «Veronica» offers such sweets to its visitors — «Coral», «Baileys», «Quantro». Hot chocolate will also please you.

Cakes and cookies made according to «imperial» recipes… Crispy croissants, unforgettable «Danish» buns, homemade ice cream… You will take home the best impressions of Lviv and the sweetest memories of Veronika. Come back again and again. You are always welcome.
