Walk along the Dnieper

Do you want to escape from the everyday hustle and bustle of the capital and change the picture? Kiev has a lot of interesting entertainment facilities, neighborhoods with ancient architecture and picturesque monasteries. But it often happens that you want to travel a little. Want to get away from the crazy rhythm and people. And if you can not escape, then you can try to sail away.

The Dnieper is a powerful river, the third longest and fullest river basin in Europe. Its magnificent landscapes have been immortalized in the literary works of Ukrainian poets and are still sung in many national songs. The Dnieper is the symbol of Ukraine and a walk along its quiet waves brings peace and aesthetic pleasure.

The point of departure will be the River Station on Poshtova Square. The large-scale dimensions of the Dnieper allow you to organize long voyages to other cities. Among the numerous islets there are often abandoned places, which can be reached only by floating means. Therefore, it is not surprising that rent of a motor ship in Kiev is not a rare phenomenon. For an unplanned and short river trip there is a wide range of excursions in different directions.

Having changed a soft sofa for a comfortable bench, and the TV screen for a panorama of the Ukrainian capital, you will finally be able to relax. On the Right Bank through the fluffy hills you can see the monument to Prince Vladimir, the Baptist of Russia, the rainbow arch «Friendship of Peoples», another monument already «Magdeburg Law». On the left side look out high-rise buildings and houses with triangular roofs. Having sailed under the Park Bridge and the bridge with the subway line, on the Right Bank you can see the glittering domes of the famous Kiev-Pechersk Lavra and the 90-meter high Motherland, and at its foot the National Museum of the Great Patriotic War. The Paton Bridge is left behind and Vydubytsky Monastery appears before your eyes.

River walk will take only an hour, but will leave the most pleasant impressions, and most importantly — the unbridled desire to return here again.
